that which we call a rose

What once was a railway station is soon to be a hotel.

Construction of Tokyo station commenced in 1908 and was completed in 1914. Partially destroyed by bombing in WWII and rebuilt, the Marunouchi side of the old station is being restored and is scheduled to open as the Tokyo Station Hotel in October 2012. Room rates vary from AU$450 through to AU$10,000 (!) per night.

I couldn't help myself with this image of contrasts: colour and monotone, light and dark, depth and flatness, old and new, and modest and monument.
