It's been seven weeks since I visited Port Moresby. Recently I received a charming message from someone I met (who wishes to remain anonymous, so I'll call her Theresa), and was rather chuffed, if not also somewhat humbled:
I never paid attention to things around me when we are travelling out of Port Moresby. That was until I saw some of your pictures. I realised today when we were on the highway everything around us. Nature itself was beautiful, and that all depends on us—how we see things, and how we'd like others to see it.
So thank you :)
Well, that's just about the best compliment I've ever received in response to my work. Thanks so much, Theresa, for your kind and thoughtful words, which were very well received given that the day I read them was the day after some of my camera equipment had been stolen in Tasmania. Your message was an unexpected delight!
